The team here at Thompson Center for Dentistry is extremely proud to announce that Dr. Uyen Thompson has been designated a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). This prestigious distinction is shared by less than 2% of general dentists in the United States and Canada, and is earned by those who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to continuing education and exceptional standards of patient care.
The Academy of General Dentistry was founded in 1952 and its membership includes thousands of dentists across the country. Part of its mission is to empower general dentists with resources and support to continue providing the best possible care and dental health education for patients while advancing the field of general dentistry. Mastership status in the AGD is the highest honor bestowed by that organization. To earn the distinction, the dentist must have completed more than 1,100 credit hours of continuing education and pass a rigorous exam. The dentist must also already be a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and have a license to practice dentistry that has been in good standing for at least five years.
One of Dr. Thompson’s highest priorities throughout her career is to continuously and consistently pursue additional education that allows her to remain abreast of the latest dental treatments and techniques. This dedication to continuing dental education can ultimately serve our goal of providing each and every one of our patients with the best possible dental care and overall treatment experience.
